Music and the Deaf BBC Proms

The charity "Music and the Deaf" is delighted to be working with BBC Proms to provide the first ever signed Prom on Saturday July 31st 2010 at 7.30pm in the Royal Albert Hall.
The Prom is "Sondheim at 80" and celebrates the work of one of Broadway's greatest composers and lyricists, Stephen Sondheim.
The concert includes:

The Frogs Fanfare and Instructions to the Audience
Follies Overture, Broadway Baby, Too Many Mornings
Sunday in the Park with George Sunday in the Park with George, Move On
Into the Woods Agony, Children will listen
A Little Night Music Night Waltz (orchestral), Send in the Clowns, A Weekend in the Country
Sweeney Todd Prelude (organ), The Ballad of Sweeney Todd, Epiphany, A Little Priest
Company Being Alive
A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum Everybody Ought to have a Maid
Merrily We Roll Along Our Time
Sunday In The Park with George Act 1 Finale 4

Paul Whittaker OBE, the Artistic Director and Founder of "Music and the Deaf", and who is profoundly deaf himself, will be signing the Prom. Since 1992 Paul has worked on many major productions such as "Les Miserables", "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", "Phantom of the Opera", "Grease" and "West Side Story" and also interprets performances for Rambert Dance Company and The Sixteen choir.
"It's wonderful that the BBC Proms are providing this opportunity for deaf people to attend the world's greatest music festival and I hope that this will be the first of many signed events at the Proms." says Paul.
