Become A Member Of SPIT
SPIT exists to help you develop more effective BSL interpreted performances by running a more efficient programme. Join us!
Our members are arts organisations who present or intend to present BSL interpreted performances. Your annual subscription will give you access to a range of benefits and services including:
- Welcome Pack with indispensable information on setting up and running BSL interpreted performances.
- Inclusion in SPIT's national performance listing published quartlerly and accessible from this web site.
- A database of Deaf attenders across the country accessed through SPIT News.
- Access to research and reports commissioned by SPIT.
- A database of qualified BSL interpreters
- Offer training opportunities in Deaf Awareness and British Sign Language.
- Offer feedback and evaluation of the services you provide through visits by our Deaf Focus Group.
- A no-clash diary.
- A consultancy and advice service.
Membership Fees
SPIT relies on members' fees for 50% of its annual income. We recognise that members may come from a wide range of organisations, so fees are based on the organisation's annual turnover, to an upper subscription rate of £295 per annum. In addition, we have a reduced membership fee for organisations outside the M25.
